LJR Development was formed in 1997 by Larry Rush, a third generation real estate developer. LJR specializes in the development of multi family communities as well as high end custom homes on Long Island. With the experience of Mr. Rush as well as various Partners and investors, LJR is currently developing two town house communities and is obtaining approvals to develop several other projects on Long Island.
Larry Rush has been active in the real estate industry since 1984. His first experience was acting as the owner’s representative on the development of The Paladin, a 31 story high rise condominium on East 62nd Street in Manhattan. After that, Mr. Rush joined Rush Properties, Inc. on Long Island, bringing a third generation to the family real estate business. From 1987 - 1989 he was responsible for several developments on Long Island. Mr. Rush was also involved in the conversion to co-operatives of several family owned apartment buildings comprising approximately 1,000 units.
In 1990, Larry relocated to San Diego, California and became a founding partner in, and CFO of Pacific Medical Buildings, LP, a company specializing in the development, construction and management of hospital based medical office buildings on the west coast. Mr. Rush was responsible for managing the finances of the company in addition to overseeing the financing and construction of all properties being developed. During his time at Pacific, Mr. Rush was involved with the development of over 500,000 square feet of medical office building space in California, Nevada and Hawaii. He was also a managing partner in several retail and mixed use developments in California and Arizona.
In 1997, returning to Long Island, Mr. Rush formed LJR Development. LJR has completed or is in the process of getting approvals to develop several projects on Long Island. Working with partners and investors, LJR is currently developing some exciting multi family housing projects on Long Island. LJR has also developed high end custom homes, including an 8,000 sf home in Old Westbury, NY, and a 6,000 sf home in Laurel Hollow, NY.
In 2004, Larry Rush formed Rush Capital LLC. Rush Capital has been involved in procuring financing for various real estate projects through relationships with various private equity funds and institutions.
Lisa O’Connor is responsible for overseeing all phases of the company’s projects. She is involved in all aspects of development from acquisition to completion, including Planning, property management, budgeting, design, construction and marketing of the projects.

Westhampton, NY, 2.5 acre property to be developed into 9 luxury townhomes. Site plan has been approved by the Village of Westhampton Beach. Project sold prior to construction.
Single Family Residence, Old Westbury, NY, Acted as Construction Manager for the construction of a 7,500 s.f. private home. Completion August, 2004.
Single Family Residence, Laurel Hollow, NY, Purchased land and constructed 6,000 s.f. home to be sold. Completion Winter 2005.
Huntington, NY, purchased single family home on ¾ acre. The property has been re-zoned for 7 townhouses, currently under construction.
